Getting around in Gatlinburg TN and Pigeon Forge can be quite a task if you are driving your own car. Both of these cities are some of the busiest towns in the nation. It’s especially difficult to get around town if you are traveling during the holidays or peak season.

Choosing to ride the trolley is an inexpensive cost and since it has access to over 100 different sites in the two cities they could cut down on time waiting in the car. The price to ride the trolley is cheaper than the gas you would use in your own car. They also offer all day trolley passes that could pay for themselves if you use it enough in one day.

Just like in Telluride CO, Gatlinburg TN offers an aerial tramway to Ober Gatlinburg. This is the easiest way to visit Ober Gatlinburg if you are interested in skiing, ice skating, or plenty of other attractions.

Some people fly into town. Since some places are not walking distance to a trolley there are also other modes of transportation you could choose. There are rental companies that would rent cars, trucks, SUV’s etc. to you. There are also companies who specialize in off roading vehicles for you to rent. You could also opt to rent a scooter, dirt bike, motorcycle, etc. from some rental companies.

Another way to cut down on traffic is to rent one of the many cabin rentals that is walking distance to downtown. Not only can you leave your car parked at your cabin rental on vacation but it’s good exercise too. Plan your vacation accordingly and get ready to have fun on your vacation to Pigeon Forge or Gatlinburg TN.

For a unique way of getting around in Telluride you should take the chondola. The chondola is a combination of a chairlift and a gondola ride. The chondola is a 4 person gondola cabin in between every ten chairs. The ride will start at the bottom of the Meadows ski run and will go straight up to Mountain Village. You can get around some areas of Telluride and also areas in Mountain Village as well by getting off one chondola and getting into another. Forget the car! Catch a chondola!

The chondola runs every day during the Winter season for skiing. You can ride it anytime between 7am and 12am. That’s 17 hours that the chondola is open and available for your use. During certain festivals the hours are extended to meet the needs of tourists.

Riding times are not long at all and while you ride the chondola you can look out and see the beautiful scenery of Telluride CO. The least amount of time you will spend on a chondola is 1.5 minutes and the most is 6.5 minutes depending on where you’re riding to. If you want to ride to Station St. Sophia you better not forget to grab your chondola ticket though or you won’t be able to ride!

Ride the chondola to avoid parking and it’s virtually noiseless. Best of all it helps to keep air pollution down. It doesn’t disrupt the view either because it’s right at the tree line so when you look out you don’t see all the chondolas.
